Some frequently asked questions and info you might like to know before you get out into the water.

What should I wear when I go kayaking?
Come prepared to get a little wet from the drip of your paddle and be out in the sun. Dress for the weather. Lightwieght, synthetic clothing is best. Sunglasses, sunblock and a hat. You can bring camera's, but they do have the possibility of getting wet, so bring a water proof bag.

What should I bring?
Bring fluids and snacks if you plan on being out for an extended period of time, also a camera is great to bring when you are out on the water. We highly recommend lots of fluids when it is really hot out, to reduce heat exhaustion. We also carry water and power bars at most of our locations.

What if I don't want to bring my keys or other valuables with me while kayaking?
We also provide free storage at each of our locations, in case you want to leave something behind, or don't want it to get wet.

What time should I arrive before the event?
We recommend 15 minutes prior to the event. Be sure to plan ahead for traffic, and we have plenty of free parking at all locations.

Registration dates are showing up incorrect?
Due to web site technicalities, sometimes the date on the signup page might not reflect the date you clicked; however, the date on the top of the signup page is accurate. We appreciate your understanding and will have this resolved with our event signup carrier as soon as possible.

Weather and cancellations:
We make the call on weather at the time we start the tour or class. Predictions don't mean anything in Chicago, so come prepared to paddle. If at the time we start the event, there are any signs of severe weather, we will then cancel and reschedule.

Cancellations for a kayaking event:
Cancellations must be made 1 week prior to an event for a full refund.

Rescheduling a kayaking event:
Rescheduling for an event must be made 48hrs ahead of time, otherwise you will be charged a $25 rescheduling fee.
